At the event of New York Motor show 2013, American Honda featuring the new redesigned two-wheel drive model 2014 Acura MDX. The company has not release the official price the new MDX, however the company stated the 2014 will be more affordable edition and predicted to go on sale later this summer, however the price has not officially announced yet.
The 2014 Acura MDX built on completely new platform is run by a 3.5-liter V6 engine which able to generate up to 290 horsepower (10-horse power compare the previous version) and uses the six speed automatic transmission system.
The gas mileage for the front wheel drive is estimated around 20 mpg for the city drive and 28 mpg for the highway drive based on the data from American Honda. Despite there is no official EPA number been release yet. Meanwhile for 2014 Acura MDX all-wheel drive Honda confident that it will have good improvement in the fuel economy expecting to score 18 mpg for the city drive and 27 mpg for the highway drive.
2014 MDX will features a brand new Integrated Dynamic System with three modes, which are Normal, Comfort and Sport. The system will adjust the steering effort, throttle response, active sound and SH- AWD to meet the need and taste of the drive. Some other additional improvement on the Acura MDX will include LED lighting, Center console for laptop, underfloor storage at the back cargo space and better and easier access toward the third row seat simply with one touch walk in features.
Safety feature will include many features to help the driver such as front collision warning, multi angle back view camera, lane departure warning, blind spot detection system, lane keeping assist and active cruise control. The crossover structure engineered in order to perform great enough at the NHTSA and IIHS crash test to received 5-start safety rating.
